One thing that makes Christianity different from other religious practices is "simplicity". We don't have to do ceremony on certain time or don't have to know all things to get to Heaven.
For instance, "prayer". We don't have to know all the details of Christian theology to bring up our needs and thanksgiving to God.
This is like driving a car. Most of people (of course, if you have driving license) know that, if you want to go forward (or backward depending on in which gear you put), you push gas (acceleration) pedal by foot. Similarly, if you want to stop, you put your foot on brake pedal. But not many people don't know how this works, meaning when you put gas pedal, what happens in the engine, transmission, brake system, tires, etc.
Like myself who works in automobile industry, I know a little bit more of the how the things work in a car when you put gas pedal, etc. But still, when I drive, I do the same things; put gas pedal to go forward and put brake pedal to stop.
In Christian community, there are people who have more knowledge of Christian theology such as pastors and ministers (and I believe they should), like automobile engineers (like myself) who know more details of how a car works.
We don't have to know mechanics and engineering of car to drive a car. Similarly, we don't need to have theology to have relationship with Him.
Thank you God that I can still talk to you though I don't know much about theology. |
